    After the Show

I had the honor and pleasure of having Karen Reddick on the show today.  Karen is the Owner of V and E Services and The Red Pen Editor, as well as the author of two fantastic books: The A-Z Guide: The Best Ways to Work with a Virtual Assistant, and her latest release, Grammar Done Right.

Karen shared a tremendous amount of information relative to her virtual assistant niche, which is copyediting and proofreading, and talked about how she developed her books and why they are so useful to not only clients, but to other virtual assistants as well.  We also learned about the different types of editors, and why it is so important for writers to seek out and hook up with the right one the first time!

She also talked about her experience being featured on NBC's the Today show last year.  If you'd like to watch that segment, you can do so online at: http://video.msn.com/?mkt=en-us&brand=msnbc&vid=fda5aec6-5250-43c2-936f-dfac1ec2033d.  Very cool!

Don't forget to check out Karen's "one-week-only" discount on her new book, "Grammar Done Right!"  Find out more by visiting: http://www.grammardoneright.com/grammarspecial.htm.

Thanks again to Karen Reddick for joining us on MODCOM Radio this morning!  Be sure to tune in next week at 9:00 a.m. CST when my guest will be Gerry Black of Relax Communications.

Don't forget to bookmark and rate our shows!

Until next week, Melanie O'Kane out.

Ryan Kelly, J.D. - Contemporary Web Plus, Inc.

My guest yesterday, Ryan Kelly, J.D., Director of Marketing for Contemporary Web Plus, Inc. shared some tremendous information about their Web-based applications, most of which fit perfectly into the operational structure within the Virtual Assistant Industry.

Ryan was a cordial, informative guest and a wealth of information.  I felt like I, along with my listeners, were given a guided tour of his company, their products, and completely educated about why their products fit perfectly with the way virtual assistants interact and communicate with their clients.

And it was very apparent that Contemporary Web Plus, Inc. has tremendous customer-service ethics.  I felt very confident that they leave no one in the dark and will do whatever it takes to help their customers successfully use their products.

I hope everyone who works as or with a virtual assistant to listen to this show, archived at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/melanieokane.

Next week, my guest will be Karen Reddick.  For those of you who watch the NBC Today Show, you may recognize Karen from the story they did on virtual assistants, using Karen and her client, who is all the way across the country, as their model for how business can benefit and prosper using virtual assistant services.

MODCOM Radio airs every Tuesday morning at 10 EST/9 CST/8 MST/7 PST on Blog Talk Radio - http://www.blogtalkradio.com/melanieokane.  My virtual assistant resources site is located at http://www.melanieokane.com.  And don't forget to pick up your MODCOM Radio Schwag while you're there!

The First One - Officially Under My Belt

Whew!  I made it.  Through my first radio broadcast that is.

Wow, talk about being nervous.  I thought I had really blown the show.  But when I listened to the archive, I realized it wasn't so bad after all.

Yes; I rambled some.  Sure; I stumbled over my words in a few places - quite a few places actually.  And then there was that dead air while I took a drink of water.  It's really hard to talk nonstop for an hour, especially when you're nervous.

Anyway, I'd really like to give a shout out to the group of folks who attended the show this morning.  I am blessed to have this medium from which I get to talk about really important topics.  Please be sure to bookmark my show page and rate my shows too.  The more feedback I receive, the better my show will become!

The next episode of the Melanie O'Kane Dot Com Radio Hour will air next Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. CST (10:00 a.m. EST).  No topic or guest lined up yet.  But don't you worry.  I and my guest will be ready to rumble as we take your calls and expound upon topics important to independent professionals.

Visit me online at my Virtual Assistant Business site:
www.mad-typing-and-consulting.com or my Virtual Assistant Resources site:  www.melanieokane.com or come back right here to www.blogtalkradio.com/melanieokane
