A rising star among criminal defense and trial lawyers, Jonathon W. Grimes also graduated from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney School of Law in 2004, after earning Bachelor of Arts degrees in German and French (fluent in both German and French) from Southern Utah University, and spending several years doing graduate work at the University of Oregon and in Europe. Mr. Grimes has distinguished himself among his colleagues with several impressive jury trial victories in cases ranging from 1st Degree Felony sex crimes, to misdemeanor domestic violence and DUI cases. A member in good standing of the Utah State Bar, Mr. Grimes is licensed to practice law before all state and Federal courts in Utah, and the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals (Denver), and has been praised for his leadership on a Utah Supreme Court appeal seeking defense resources for indigent clients represented by private attorneys. Mr. Grimes is active in the Utah Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers on the Legislative Committee, and is one of the organization’s designated representatives in lobbying efforts at the state legislature and local governments, and has both presented course lectures at the UACDL Annual Seminars and been published in the UACDL quarterly magazine, The Defender.
