The Victory Lap features people sharing their health & fitness success stories. My aim as the host is simply to encourage you to pursue, enjoy and win the endeavor to live healthier. I work in wellness support and I know fitting wellness into your lifestyle is not so simple a task. Yet, it does not have to be a burden either. Join me as I present Victor Views... genuine insights of others who successfully achieve wellness and better health. Two Sundays each month at 4pm.

Yes, it is true! Ordinary people with complex lives are finding ways to have extraordinarily good fitness, health and wellness. They are cut from many different cloths. Some do self-help, some use fitness and wellness professionals. Some love the outdoors and some exercise indoors. Some eat all organic foods and some just maintain a steady, healthy diet of moderation. Some are overly stressed and some have little pressure. Some have lost weight and some never needed to. On The Victory Lap you will hear Victor Views! That is, I interview people who are successfully living a healthy lifestyle. You will even hear from some of the fitness trainers, dietitians, therapists and other wellness professionals and specialists who help others pursue successful exercise, nutrition, stress management, weight loss, pain reduction and more.     Wisdom is available to any person who wholeheartedly pursues it. In this country, we have thousands of people living their days hoping and trying to make wise decisions about their eating, exercise, weight control and health. They may be following the advice of a friend, getting tips from their favorite magazine or book or just doing what mom taught them. And while all of these methods of applying conventional wisdom may be fine, it certainly is not working for everyone.

    Chad Lefler, an exercise scientist and nutritionist, applies a different blend of wisdom. He has studied how exercise effects the brain chemically at the cellular level, he has researched how the world’s oldest populations eat and he has gained a distinctly different understanding of how very unique each of our bodies is. Have you ever wondered why what works for one person does not work for another? Well, Chad will answer that question plus share his thoughts on exercise training, essential eating habits and why you may be on the right track to weight control even if you think you are not.

    Chad has practiced personal fitness training since graduating with his degree in Exercise Sports Science. In recent years, he has studied both nutrition and the mind-body connection. He now owns Active Concepts Training and he has formed a manner of helping people advance or recover fitness that is exceptionally different, yet completely based upon enduring facts.

    Recently, many young adults began new chapters in their lives as college students. And in colleges across the nation, people whisper about the Freshman 15. Even as college dining continues to add fresher choices, students continue to have equal access to fast foods. And while many campuses are now more walkable than ever, students find plenty other ways to reduce activity. So, many average weight young people start a path toward overweight or obesity as adults during that four or five year stint.

    Not too long ago Christy Kroustalis was among the new students in a new university to gain about fifteen pounds in her first year followed by more pounds in subsequent years. The Freshman 15 turned into the Undergraduate 45… and it hardly even bothered her until her wake-up call.

    Now, she has successfully transitioned from graduate student to career woman and she has transformed her body into a leaner, stronger and healthier build minus the 45 pounds she gained years ago.
