About Kim Cox Owens:

 

Kim Cox-Owens was born and raised in South West Atlanta; 

After College, Mrs. Owens returned to Atlanta to become an active supporter in several political campaigns. She also became active in her community as a child advocate through CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate), a community activist through United Way VIP (Volunteer Involvement Program), Adopt-A-Student Mentoring Program for Atlanta Public High Schools, where she volunteered as a coordinator for 10 plus years, and Fulton County Democratic Party, where she was elected as a Delegate, to serve in the State Democratic Convention. Mrs. Owens is married to Damon Owens, and has 2 children that attend Clayton County Public Schools. She is the President of the PTA at Smith Elementary and has served as the Vice-President of PTO. She served as the Chair, and Vice Chair of a State Charter School Board in Clayton County. She is the owner and Broker of Cox & Company Real Estate and has been a business owner in Clayton County for 7 years.

She started her first company at the age of 24. She is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Psi Alpha Omega (Clayton and Henry County Chapter) where she served on the Executive Board for 2 years. She has been an active member of Word of Faith Family Worship Cathedral under Bishop Dale C. Bronner for 13 years, but a lifelong spiritual worshiper.
