Many people wonder why veterans are homeless in our communities. In our first ever broadcast we will discuss why homelessness is a big concern for veterans . According to USATODAY veterans make up one in four homeless people in the United States, though they are only 11% of the general adult population. Homelessness is not just a problem among middle-age and elderly veterans. Younger veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan are trickling into shelters and soup kitchens seeking services, treatment or help with finding a job. We also have veterans who do not qualify for services and feel unworthy to their country. This show will answer the questions of: Why veterans become homeless? Do they desire help? Where are the resources? What can our community do to help save homeless veterans? The Veterans Center will also discuss our solutions and programs we offer in the Atlanta Metro Area. If you have comments or concerns please call in voice your opinions.
