Contrarian Marketing Secrets Vs. Conventional Wisdom

The ultimate contrarian secret goes far beyond the standard definition below.

"A contrarian is a person with a preference for taking a position opposed to that of the majority view prevalent in the group of which they are a part."

The ultimate contrarian sees opportunity where others don't. A true contrarian marketer realizes there is no such thing as safety in numbers if your peers are a bunch of lemmings ready to plunge off a cliff.

I have said it numerous times on my Sales and Marketing behind the 8-ball show.....and I'll say it again: 95% of the population are sheep who live lives of quiet desperation, void of passion, dreams, and no zest for life. I call these people pipe smokers because they lack the courage to break free from the herd and "roll the dice."

Sheep fail to understand that a life without risk isn't living.....it's just existence. Sheep risk nothing. Sheep accomplish little.....because they can't make a decision without mom, dad, friends, and Oprah validating it first. Sad. True.

Sheep require "yes men" in their respective lives because they lack their own individuality to think for themselves.....much less live life on their own terms. It's too damn painful for most.

Are you one of them? 95% of the population is.....which explains why such a small part of the population controls the majority of the wealth. 

A contrarian stands alone and turns a deaf ear to the critics, cynics and naysayers...and a media machine that manufactures news and spins it like cotton candy at the local carnival.

A true contrarian realizes that when the "masses of asses" buy....it's time to sell. When the lemmings decide en masse to jump off the cliff cuz that's the way they always heard it should be....a true contrarian marketer is all to happy to sell them an imported parachute

He or she also realizes that those who require third party validation from the "Jones Family" represent a clique the true contrarian wants no part of.

We don't live in "gated communities". We don't make decisions based on what gloom and doom is reported in the news.....rather we exploit it for profit.

Contrarian Thinking is the difference between life and a lobotomy.

If you have the courage to break free, and travel that road no one else has the balls to venture down....you shouldn't be surprised when you find gold that others never bothered to look for.

Live free.....or die. Be willing to risk and fail....be willing to risk and get rich.
