Crossroads with Van / US Constitution vs. Party Platforms

The GOP claims to be the party that stands up of the US Constitution, however there are parts in it that are clearly Un Constitutional.  My question is wouldn't it be better for the National & State Party's to Adopt a Platform and lay it out Issue by Issue that lines up with the US Constitution so as to get a real committment from those running for office to abide by Both?  Vans programs consist mainly on Political Issues and his Comments on them.
