Dr. Chuck Jewett is an outstanding intuitive practitioner in the expanding field of Functional Medicine at the Gilead Balm Wellness Center Fredericksburg, Ohio. Born and raised in a rural Ohio family, he began his life and resumed a career of farming after serving in the US Marine Corp. He suffered from relentless chronic back pain that could not be relieved by any form of conventional medicine. A miraculous cure through holistic chiropractic advice and care changed his life and inspired him to enter the medical field to help others. Chuck began his education at Shawnee State College, Portsmouth, OH, and he graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic with distinguished Honors in Research. While at Palmer, his studies of bio-chemistry led to a special interest in the way nutrients interact with the cellular processes of the body to maintain and restore health. Learning about every aspect of the human condition led him to the solid practice of Functional Medicine. Dr. Jewett finds value in traditional medicine and hospital interventions for necessary surgeries, acute life threatening infections and bodily trauma in emergency situations. He also knows that western medicine fails by prescribing drugs to alleviate “symptoms”. Dr. Chuck doesn’t treat symptoms; he treats each individual person according to their unique requirements for their specific conditions. Through lab tests he identifies the physiological deficits of the internal body functions. He partners with his patients to discover every possible contributing factor to aid their recovery and continued well being. Family genetics, age, life style, diet, career, stress, spiritual beliefs, emotional , mental and environmental conditions all contribute to illness. And they all reveal where the healing begins with Dr. Chuck.
