Investigative journalist Susan Bradford (www.susanbradford.org) will interview former Toynbee Hall Chief Executive Alan Lee Williams on the role of university settlements and community organizing in shaping President Barack Obama's fundamental transformation of the United States.  

A friend of the late Baroness Margaret Thatcher, Alan Lee Williams is a former member of the Trilateral Commission, former Director General of the English Speaking Union, former Director of the Atlantic Council of the UK, former Chairman of the William Beveridge Foundation, former President of the Atlantic Treaty Association, and former Chairman of the British National Community of the World Assembly of Youth. A public intellectual who was educated at Ruskin College, Oxford, Mr. Williams was appointed Visiting Profesor of Politics at Queen Mary College, London. In addition to serving in Parliament as an MP for three terms, Mr. Williams was Parliamentary Private Secretary to UK Defense Secretaries Denis Healey and Roy Mason.
