Many people are often amazed to discover that in several New York City boroughs and nearby cities in NJ, large gregarious flocks of bright green parrots known as Quakers or Monk Parrots fly about the skyline where they've been a fixture for years bringing an exotic touch the Urban landscape and freely reproducing despite the severe & freezing winters of the Northeast. Where as legislation typically looks to eradicate exotics, we'll see how local residents and even lawmakers are fighting to protect this established exotic and how one woman is making it her personal battle to help them.
