It has been said that “The practice of meditation takes us on a fabulous journey into the gap between our thoughts, where all the advantages of a more peaceful, stress-free, healthy, and fatigue-free life are available, but which are simply side benefits. The paramount reason for daily meditation is to get into the gap between our thoughts, and make conscious contact with the creative energy of life itself. Dr. Mays, noted Organization Facilitator, Author, and teacher of Vipassana meditation, began his study of meditation with Zen in the early ‘90’s. His extensive study, practice and teaching of meditation, will set the pace for the Year of Transformation on “Restored, Renewed, and Transformed with Tracey Booker. He will share with us, on many levels about the benefits, holistic, and life transforming effects of meditation.
Dr. Mays extensive experience in leadership, team, and organization development is built upon a rich academic history. He holds two Bachelor of Science degrees with majors in philosophy, political science, and environmental resource management, and minors in economics and English. He has also earned two Master of Arts degrees in both psychology and in organizational leadership. Kevin has his Doctorate from the University of Montana, where he conducted research on leadership behavior and the practice of meditation.
In his spare time, Kevin pursues his fifteen-year, disciplined meditation practice that serves as the foundation of the work he does. He is an avid adventure traveler, amateur musician, proud father, and happy husband.
