Danny Lewin, Ph.D., Is an Assistant Professor, and Associate Director of Pediatric Sleep Medicine Program at Children’s National Medical Center. He is a clinical psychology and board Certified in Sleep Medicine and Behavioral Sleep Medicine and recently served as the Director of the Sleep Disorders Medicine Program at the NIH, National Center on Sleep Disorders Research (NCSDR). His research and clinical practice spans the whole age spectrum. The NIH has supported his research on the impact of insufficient sleep on cognitive function and health. He has co-taught workshops integrating eastern (mindfulness based meditation and yoga) and Western approached to improving sleep health. He has as published numerous articles and chapters on Pediatric Sleep Disorders and has been a member of committees and task forces that have focused on sleep research and health policy. Dr. Lewin received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Rutgers University and completed pre- and post-doctoral training at the Yale Child Study Center and University of PIttsburgh School of Medicine.
