    Emmy Recap and The Fall TV Kickoff

    Let's review the Emmy winners and losers and the TV premieres thus far.

    So the Emmys have come and gone...

    ...and by the time I host the show on Saturday, no one will care anymore.  BUT, you should listen anyway, because I'll tell you why you should care.  Despite the pomp and circumstance, the Emmys are a very important bellweather in the TV business.  For all the talk (and I do a lot of it) about how TV is a business first and entertainment second, the Emmys are the one time all year where the TV networks do care what people think of their programming.  Besides, winning Emmys is a way to advertise a show as 'good'.  And advertising shows is what they do, so you will watch the show and watch all the commercials bought and paid for by advertisers.  The money for which go into making new programs...the circle of TV life.

    Saturday 4 PM Pacific / 7 PM Eastern (that's right, I'm slipping slowly into primetime).

    A poll is coming to ask what night of the week and what time you'd like to be able to listen live to "Confessions of a TV Junkie". 

    In the meantime, do tune in to <a href=http://www.blogtalkradio.com/geekerati>Geekerati Radio</a> tonight for the Geek Quiz!  I'll be attempting to stump the geeks with TV questions while they undoubtedly stump me in categories like comics and gaming.  Should be a fun time (and you can call in to join the quiz!)
