THE FOSTER CARE SYSTEM – IS THE RUMOR GAME PART OF THE DECISION-MAKING PROCESS?

Join host Sherrie Clark as she talks with guests Dr. Xenia Merrick, Rev. Margie Ussery, and Darryl Clark. They'll take on some controversial issues within the foster care system.

They'll analyze several questions, such as whether decision makers are given all of the information regarding a case. Is information being divulged to them accurately so that they can make the most educated and appropriate decisions in the lives of foster children?

Do workers know the laws or do they merely play the Rumor Game? And has the system improved over the last couple of decades? What are some proven solutions?

Darryl Clark will share the story that led to the writing of the award-winning book Small Voices Silenced. Former caseworker Dr. Merrick will provide insight from her experiences. Rev. Ussery will provide her perspective as a former guardian ad litem.
