It’s interesting how we sometimes crate a lifestyle for our pets that mimic our own. Now that it’s official, how long before we start to see celebrity dog and cat diet books? With the increased conversation about PTSD and other stress from serving in the middle east, it’s really great to hear about organizations like Patriot Paws: Patriot Paws Helps Veterans Maintain their Independence. Here is an opportunity to make a difference, locally, and nationally. We know that the cat population in shelters and rescues is out of control… and there needs to be a lot more of this type of thinking to help make a difference not only with these cats but people in our community that need a second chance: Cuddly Catz Innovative Cat Foster Prison Program. The ability to read is often taken for granted. Having a committed listener who is not going to judge or evaluate a child can do wonders for self esteem and learning: Therapy Dog Reading Program Makes Magic. While writing this it occurred to me that maybe therapy reading dogs could be useful in adult literacy programs. What do you think?
