I met Gael Ross at the BlogPaws, pet blogger conference in Washington D.C. and was struck by her commitment and passion for people and their love and loss of their pets. I have been noticing how in the news and in various on line communities how much we all are devastated by the loss of our pet companions. Over the course of the weekend we had several conversations and wanted to get her to sit down for an interview.
This weeks blogs…
Sometimes it’s the obvious that alludes us as pointed out in: Simple Dog Training: Say “Please”. Friends have told me this works with children as well! Having interviewed several people involved in Canine Cancer I was interested to see that a study is being made available: Canine Cancer Study Seeks Dogs. Hopefully we start to learn how to manage and eliminate Cancer from not only our pets but people as well. One again, we have a voice from the world non pit bull owners on how they found themselves realizing that a dog’s way of being is a function of training not breeding in: What Rocco Taught Me. Now for some interesting historical content: Is that a Frank Loyd Wright… Doghouse? A wonderful story decades in the making regarding a young boys desire to have a dog house that goes with the family house… designed by Frank Loyd Wright. A reminder that this is Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month & National Grilled Cheese Month. What a combination. Oh, and as a bonus… today is National Amaretto Day! So how about sitting down with a warm and gooey grilled cheese sandwich, a glass of Amaretto, while you check out the ASPCA site for how you can make a difference?
