Guest: Kelly Kaliszewski, Owner - Founder, Wishcuit. Wishcuit was founded almost three years ago. Initially it began as an all natural dog treat company and evolved after a short while into a company that has become dedicated to improving the health and welfare of dogs. Wishcuit supports canine cancer research and treatment, and various canine causes including rescues, adoptions, foster programs, and spay & neuter efforts. Kelly achieve this through campaigns that raise awareness and funds, and donate 50% of the net proceeds to non profit rescues and other canine organizations. Kelly's current program (campaign) is called Love Adds Up which was inspired by Cain and is a simple drawing that she scratched on a scrap of paper. "It was a summer afternoon that I remember clearly. I had taken a break from gardening, and took a seat next to Cain on the patio. I always keep paper and a pen handy so I can keep track of the seeds that I plant in my vegetable garden. It was a quiet moment that we shared and I doodled a simple stick figure drawing. I didn’t think much of it at the time, but was told later by my husband that I should make a bumper sticker from the image. The image became the symbol for the Love Adds Up campaign, and now through sales of products that depict the image, I donate 50% of the net proceeds to various canine causes and cancer studies. --------- About Behind the Curtain: In the "Wizard of OZ" there was a man behind the curtain who showed people that they already had everything they needed and desired... We've created a BlogTalkRadio program where our guests include those hero's and champions who dedicate themselves to make a difference with people and our animal companions. Most of these organizations are well known and make amazing differences in their communities, but the people behind the curtain, those that spend countless hours, often don't seek the spotlight and we want to share their stories and passion with you.
