True Journey Radio is honored to have special guest Mr. Simeon Wright, cousin of Emmett Till, a 14 year old boy from Chicago visiting relatives in Mississippi in 1955. Till was taken from his uncle's home by two white men; several days later, his body was found in the Tallahatchie River. Simeon saw his cousin taken from his family, never to return. As he looks back on the tragic moment in his childhood, we hope that you can identify with the trauma he experienced and understand why that happened years ago in Mississippi is still an important chapter in our nation's history. This senseless grotesque became the the catalyst for the civil rights movement. Simeon Wright is a popular public speaker at schools, churches, and cultural institutions throughout the country. ~Purchase book Simeon's Story by Simeon Wright with Herb Boyd.
