Jen Sinclair and Sandy will share what being involved with the Cancer Support Community has meant to them. We will hear Sandy's story and how she became involved with the program. Jen completed a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Temple University in Philadelphia. Jen started at The Wellness Community - Greater Lehigh Valley in 2004 as a Support Group Facilitator. In 2008, she became the Assistant Program Director, and then subsequently became the Program Director in 2009. In that time, the organization changed its name to the Cancer Support Community. The Cancer Support Community is a international nonprofit organization that provides information, support and hope to people with cancer and their loved ones. CSC has a network of over 55 affiliates. Through participation in professionally led support groups, educational workshops and mind, body, spirit classes utilizing the Patient Active concept, people affected by cancer learn vital skills that enable them to regain control, reduce isolation and restore hope regardless of the stage of the disease. Most importantly, CSC provides a home-like setting for people facing cancer to connect with and learn from each other. At the Cancer Support Community, all programs are free of charge.
