Then, on January 31, 1962, nine college freshmen and a civil rights activist carried out a sit-in at McCrory's dime store's "whites only" lunch counter in downtown Rock Hill, SC. We will talk about the restoration of the "Friendship Nine" state historical marker with a representative from the Friendship Nine project and the Culture & Heritage Museums. expand
