Today I present Nelson Mandela the Ultimate Life Coach Part 2 of 2
We, along with the rest of the world, were deeply saddened to learn of Nelson Mandela's passing on Dec 5 2013. I knew, like so many of us, that Nelson Mandela's days were coming to a close. And still, when I heard that he had passed away in his home in Johannesburg, South Africa, sadness washed over me.
I reflected on what he meant to me, to South Africans, to those fighting for peace and justice around the world, on the role he played in transforming his country and the minds and hearts of millions, and on the legacy he leaves. I am in awe, I recognize, for what one human being did in the course of a lifetime.. simply transformed the world.
By any standard, Madiba, as he was fondly referred to by those who loved him, lived a robust, fulfilling and impactful life. Few people have had as much impact on history as Mandela had. History will remember him as one of the greatest men-greatest philosophers who ever lived – not a perfect man but a mature man of values and convictions who made so much of a sacrifice to re-write the history of generations of South Africans and the world.
In this series we explore life lessons I have gleaned from his life, such as: Don’t be afraid to believe in the Impossible, Let your Passion formulate and commit you to the life you want to lead, Be true to your Core Values especially when you are in transition or fearful, Forgiveness and Compassion are strategic wellness tools to name a few
