In Ex. 3 God appeared to Moses in a burning bush and He told Moses before you come any closer first take off your shoes because the place you are standing is "holy ground."
Moses had never been in the presence of a Holy God before so God was teaching him how to enter into the Presence of a Holy God. We as the Body of Christ is called to have a reverential fear for God but somewhere along the way some of us have lost this commandment and it is time to get back to it...Holiness.
