New York, NY, February 2009 – Sharon Nelson honors the legacy of her family with a compilation CD entitled, 57th Street Music. The CD is a mixture of Old School and New School with a combination of classic ballads and original music in Funk, R&B, Hip Hop, Jazz and Spoken Word. The Nelson family has long been considered legendary in the music world. Nelson’s father, John L. Nelson has been in the music industry writing and composing for as long as Sharon can remember and her great-grandfather played twenty-seven instruments. The CD includes her late father, John L. Nelson, jazz artist and pianist who collaborated with his son Prince during the Purple Rain era. Her late sister, Lorna Lee Nelson, aka, LL Innocent, composer and lyricist is represented on the CD by her song “Where Will I go If You Leave Me.” Eleanor Landrau, CEO of Maken It Music Records is a lyricist on several of the original songs. sharon nelson
