With the fabulous multi-talented blues singer Amy Coleman. The Village Voice has called her “a revelation, from her glamorous red hair and elegant aquiline nose, to her wry comic timing, to her astonishing voice, which touches like Janis Joplin but has far more range and control.” It’s a voice that’s won her two best vocalist awards from Backstage Magazine. Grammy Award winner Phoebe Snow, has said, “Amy Coleman has the most rich and resonant voice. I love her singing." And so do we. And we especially love her haunting new CD, Goodbye New York. Amy is a singer, writer, and actress who has been wowing audiences on the New York scene for over 2 decades in musical theater, clubs, and cabarets. And they love her in Italy too, where she performs several times a year with her band Texaco Jive. When she’s not performing, she loves to teach aspiring performers, kids in the NYC inner schools, and karaoke-singing Tomatoes like us. She is passionate in her belief that anyone can sing! Join us for a terrific half hour of conversation and music. Listen in this Wed. Sept.8, 2010 at 1PM EDT/10 PST on Tomatoes in the Trenches and find out how you could win 2 tickets to Tales From the Tunnel, a new off-Broadway show that's getting raves.
