Bishop Joe Aldred of Churches Together in England on UK Multiculturalism - the Multicultural Church response to this raging debate. He will be sharing his advice and experience on how the Church in the UK can begin or continue to dismantle the social divides of culture.

Joe Aldred is an ecumenist, broadcaster and writer. He is Secretary for Minority Ethnic Christian Affairs at Churches Together in England, a presenter on BBC Radio, author and editor of several books and articles.

He is a bishop in the Church of God of Prophecy, an experienced pastor, chair, CEO, board member and participant in community development; including interfaith relations, education and health.

Joe is a regular contributor to current and religious affairs in the press and media. He presents his own weekly show ‘Chatback with Joe Aldred’ on BBC WM, and is a regular contributor to BBC Radio 2’s Pause for Thought and BBC Radio 4’s Prayer for the Day, amongst others.

Joe has an earned PhD in Theology from Sheffield University, and is editor of ‘The Black Church in the 21st Century’ (DLT, 2010), author of ‘Respect: Understanding Caribbean British Christianity’ (Epworth, 2005), among other titles. Joe is married to Novelette, a Psychotherapist and they have three grown up daughters.
