Reserved as Holy and You (Exodus 30)

God gives Moses the recipe for holy incense and holy anointing oil.  The formula is not be used by anyone other than those God has intended.   Anyone who uses the holy things for personal use is supposed to be cut off from the community.

This is highly symbolic and illustrates that holy things devoted to God are not to have common uses.  We Christians are God's holy possession, and the Bible does say that we are supposed to be holy as God is holy -- even though God understands our weaknesses.  Our lives are not common.  Our lives are not our own because they have been bought with the blood of Jesus.
