Genesis Chapter 11 has the account of the Tower of Babel, but it is something else in that chapter that captures my attention.  In verses 27 through 32 we learn of Terah, who started out on a journey but stopped along the way.  Then in verse 1 of chatper 12, we see that his son, Abram, was called by God to become the father of a great nation.  It appears that Terah was originally called to be the great father of the nation of Israel, but he didn't follow through.  The truth is that we all have a great destiny, but we have a choice as to whether or not we will go with God to the great things He has for us.

(Israel is part of modern-day Canaan.)
