If you liked this show, you should follow Thinking Allowed.

This is our launch episode for Thinking Allowed! In addition to a look at this relevant topic, we'll have our regular interview and teaching slots as well as the opportunity for you to get involved live on-air!

Programme 7:30 - 8:00pm

To get us in the mood for our debate, business woman, teacher and good friend Anthea Cowen will be sharing her three favourite bits of scripture and why they mean so much to her. We'll then be doing a live presentation on this key issue - how can Christians claim there is a loving God when there is so much suffering in the world?

Whilst you process the presentation and have a think about the questions (below) , we'll start to look at the story of God creating a community of witness - it's the story of Abraham through Acts - as you may never have heard it before.

Then we'll be taking your calls so that you too can 'think allowed'

Debate Questions

  • Why is there so much suffering in the world?
  • What role do you think individual and corporate choices make?
  • In 'Bruce Almighty' Bruce is told that he can exercise divine power provided he doesn't affect free will. How does love and choice relate to suffering?
