Our community suffers disportionately from the disease despite representing only thirteen percent of the total population.     Empowered: The one word that separates success from failure, triumph from defeatism, self-motivation from the deafening roar of inertia. It is not a word found in the lexicon of the person without vision.  What does it mean to live an empowered life and how is such a life to be measured? This is not so much a philosophical question as much as it is a practical one, although an empowerment mentality does indeed form the basis of one’s life philosophy – it was how we were created.
