After opening a small temporary retail store Rick found himself faced with a $4000+ cancellation fee for debit and credit card processing despite a salesperson's insistence at the time of sale that "my company has no cancellation fee".

Rick put his 30 years of retail, wholesale and sales experience to work and researched the debit and credit card processing industry preparing a case in small claims court to fight the fee.

To make a long story short Rick was successful! Since then he has put hundreds of hours into research and developed a solid understanding of the processing industry in Canada.
Rick has made it his mission to make sure other business owners don't fall into the same trap. He has contacted hundreds independent sales agencies and all 9 Acquirers in Canada to see how they do business, studied their contracts, learned the tricks and for some, unscrupulous practices.
