Children of stepfamilies often live in two households. It can be very difficult for them to transition from one place to another.
The other issue that children face is not seeing one of their parents for a while. That too can be very difficult.

So how do you handle that?  This week's guest is a children's book author of Countdown ‘til Daddy Comes Home which is the story of a young boy waiting for his Daddy to come home from a trip. To make their separation easier, his family creates rituals to keep each other connected and make the countdown fly by.

Inspired by her family’s experiences, Kristin Ayyar shares how her Air Force family copes with the separations that are part of everyday life

Join me, Claudette Chenevert and my guest Kristin Ayyar as we talk about ways to make children's lives less stressful between visits or when a parent is gone of a lengthy period of time.
