  David welcomes author Bob Curran to the show to discuss his newly released volume "Werewolves: A Field Guide to Shapeshifters, Lycanthropes, and Man-Beasts". Some of Dr. Curran's other volumes include: "Vampires: A Field Guide To The Creatures That Stalk The Night", "Lost Lands, Forgotten Realms: Sunken Continents, Vanished Cities, and the Kingdoms That History Misplaced", "Zombies: A Field Guide to the Walking Dead" and "Encyclopedia of the Undead". From Amazon: Most of us are familiar with the idea of a werewolf--that someone can change, either deliberately or unwillingly, into a ravenous creature--but is there some justification for such a belief? And if so, how is it achieved--through magical potions or ointments or simply by the light of the full moon? Or is the whole thing simply a form of delusion, the product of a disturbed mind? In Werewolves, author Dr. Bob Curran examines the deep psychological roots that underlie this profane linking of human and beast. Do the roots of such a belief lie in the supernatural world, or are there other explanations? How has the discovery of feral children shaped our ideas of human-beasts? And what is the future of such beliefs? The author also considers the use of genetic engineering--in this case, the fusing of human and animal genes--in order to cure some human diseases and alleviate suffering.   Join Kimberanne and her producer, Michelle Chase as they welcome a variety of guests to discuss all things metaphysical. Tonight we welcome Miriam Slozberg. Miriam, residing in Toronto, Canada is married with two children, and is a certified astrologer with a passion for occult matters including past life and reincarnation phenomena. She has been doing astrology readings for over five years. The issues that had pushed her towards this area of interest is the fact that she has endured many challenges through her life. She has a history of depression, anxiety, phobias, food addiction and suffers from low self esteem in general. Miriam was desperate for answers as to why she has suffered from so many internal struggles. After finding out that one of her children has autism, which she also believes she has a mild form of, she fell into a major depression. But in time, after picking herself up, she went on an intense spiritual quest. After making some eye opening discoveries, she decided to write a book about it in order to not only help herself heal, but to help others who deal with their own challenges realize that there are reasons behind one's suffering. Miriam's issues not only stem from past life karma, but from new lessons that her brave soul had chosen to endure to grow. She is learning how to tame her ego as she is learning how to listen to her soul more and more. Miriam still struggles, but is also reaching a level of acceptance and realizing that she is worthy of love, just like everyone else.
