The Spiritual Envoy  

I have alot of mixed feelings about my next show.  I am really excited to have trance medium and author Summer Bacon on The Spiritual Mom's Corner, which airs tomorrow August 12th at 6:30 PST on Blog Talk Radio: The Spiritual Envoy.  The first half of the show I (Danah Hilden) will interview Summer about her life and her work and some of her experiences which include being a domestic violence survivor and parenting during this violence.  When we picture a Domestic Violence Survivor I think we often get alot of stereotypes: evil men, helpless victim entrenched women you know these types. But do you think of UCLA educated professionals who have worked for radio stations and large companies?  Well, think again as Summer has done all of those things.  It is time for us as a people to raise the class ceiling on our stereotyped thoughts of DV survivors, as you know I am one myself and I hold a graduate degree in clinical psychology!  The reality is even Domestic Violence shelters can help promote these stereotypes as the shelters are often full of victims who have no where else to go and little material resources.  And alot of research comes from these shelters so much of our view of Domestic Violence is very, very skewed.  What I do believe many domestic violence survivors do share is the belief that people can change.  They may stay and continue to hold that belief and not allow all the contrary information to come into there brain.  So join us as Summer tells her story and shares about her work at the Summer Bacon Institute.  The last half of the show will have Summer channeling Dr. Peebles who crossed over from our plane in 1922.  But during his almost one hundred years on this plane was a gifted author, mystic and doctor. My mixed feelings are I have never seen nor experienced a trance medium so this will be a treat.
