After a brief stint in the US Army, Jeff started as a volunteer firefighter in Maryland on April 6, 1976.
After his initial training, Jeff worked his way up through the ranks. He became an EMT in 1979 and then went on to become a Officer in the Fire Department in 1980. He also became a Haz-Mat Technician in 1993.
In 1995, Jeff was appointed Radio Officer (volunteer) to assist with communications during disasters and exercises. In 1999, he was appointed Assistant Director (volunteer) at the same Agency and was also the LEPC chairman.
As the County was in a plume-zone and an ingestion zone for a Nuclear Power Plant, Jeff participated in yearly exercises, in many positions, for that purpose.
In October 2002, Jeff accepted a full-time position with the Wicomico County Emergency Management Agency as an Emergency Management Technician.
On January 23rd of 2012, Jeff took on the challenging position of Executive Director of Area G Disaster Management where he works with all the 14 cities of the South Bay where he assists them in the continuing development of their Emergency Management programs.
