Our guest this morning is Dee Hardison.

Dee was the Mayor of the City of Torrance from l994 to 2002 and served as a City Council Member from l986 through 1994.

Prior to her tenure with the City, Dee worked for the Torrance Unified School District for more than 25 years as a Special Education Teacher and Program Specialist.

She currently serves on numerous committees including the Torrance Centennial Committee, the Torrance Cultural Arts Center Foundation, the Torrance Education Foundation, the Pediatric Therapy Network, the Torrance Performing Arts Consortium, the Torrance Historical Society and the Arts Council of Torrance among others.
In 2008 she was honored as Woman of the Year for the 53rd Assembly District and has been recognized for her service with awards from the City of Torrance, the PTA, Lions Club, National Parks & Recreation, the County of Los Angeles and the Research and Education Institute at Harbor UCLA Medical Center.

As mentioned, Dee serves on the Torrance Centennial Committee and today we’re going to discuss the Centennial Hometown Parade which takes place this Sunday, September 16th.
