Our guest this morning is Jeff Robinson, Los Angeles County Area G Disaster Coordinator.
Today, Jeff will discuss the integration of community groups, churches, non-profits, the Red Cross and Salvation Army with regard to disaster preparedness.
He became an EMT in 1979 and then went on to become an Officer in the Fire Department in 1980. He also became a Haz-Mat Technician in 1993. Jeff also started volunteering with the Dorchester County Civil Defense Agency (now Dorchester County Emergency Management) in 1979.
On January 23rd of 2012, Jeff took on the challenging position of Executive Director of Area G Disaster Management where he works with all the 14 cities of the South Bay where he assists them in the continuing development of their Emergency Management programs.
Jeff Robinson, CEM has achieved the International Association of Emergency Managers IAEM/CEM® certification joining a select group of only 1600 Certified Emergency Managers Internationally.
Our regular panel of George and Jackie rounds out the show.
George Butts, President of the Manhattan Beach Community Emergency Response Team Association (http://MBCERTA.org), as someone with extensive expertise in disaster preparedness, has agreed to join us on the show as producer and co-host.
Jackie Balestra, Producer of SouthBayByJackie.com is a celebrated writer and commentator and joins us in the co-host seat.
