Today Jackie and I talk with Keon Nayebdadash, one of the partners of Sophie’s Place in Redondo Beach's Riviera Village.
Keon was born in San Francisco but moved to Palos Verdes at a very young age.
The South Bay has always been his home and he grew up skateboarding and surfing the beach cities.
His father was a restaurateur and owned The Edge restaurant on the Redondo Beach Pier, which unfortunately burned down in the pier fire of 1985.
Keon and his three brothers were raised in the restaurant business and always had a romantic idea of following in their father’s footsteps and owning a place of our own.
In 2011, an opportunity arose to become partners in Sophie’s Place and they jumped at the chance.
Sophie’s was a perfect fit for Keon and his brothers and they saw an opportunity to add value due to their love of good food, good beer and customer service.
Keon’s passion for the business eventually led him to become the full time manager.
In the last two years, Keon has dedicated himself to learning all about beer and now that he manages Sophie's, he tries to keep the best and most rare beers on the menu.
