What are the rules of dating when it comes to Money?

Are there any rules?  Historically, Men have been expected to pay.  That used to be the way things were in America; if a man and a woman went on a date, the man paid.  No two ways about it.  These days though, there are some women who are insulted if men always insist on paying.  

On the other hand, if men don't offer to pay instantly, some women will think that they're just being cheap or disrespectful.  

One of the touchiest and most confusing dating issues today has to do with money:

Who Pays?  The man?  The woman?  Do you go Dutch?
