Dear S-Dot,
I have a secret that’s been keeping me up nights. I was incarcerated for 18 months. During that time I was sexually assaulted three times by my cellmate. I fought him off, but he was too strong and overpowered me. After the 3rd time that it happened, we got into a big fight, which led to him getting transferred to the hole. I did the rest of my time without any other incidents.
Now that I’m home, I can’t stop wondering about AIDS. I was tested and negative in prison, but I know it takes awhile to show up in your system. I’ve been home for 3 months. My lady has stuck by me during my bid and doesn’t know about this. I’m sure it would devastate her to find out. The father of her son was on the “down low” for a number of years, and that’s made her distrustful of men for years.
I love my woman. I’m not on anybody’s low. I’m a man that was violated.
I don’t know what to do. If I tell her about being sexually assaulted, I feel like she’ll think of me as less of a man. If I don’t tell her, then I’m putting her at further risk, which is what I’m doing because we don’t use condoms. Any advice you can give I’ll greatly appreciate it.

The show started out with a caller from the 317 on the line. I had to catch my breath, so I threw on Diddy’s “No Way Out” intro. I came back and threw on Maino’s 2010 Predictions. I welcomed Hancock into the building then picked up, “Yes sir, it’s the resident anti-hero Ronin”
We discussed having a change moment “where you get tired of doing the same old thing, with the same old faces.” Then we moved onto discussing the differences between your title and your identity, and reclaiming your personal power. Ronin shared, “people need to look for quality.”
His show encourages people to start thinking again. Sundays at 10 p.m. he keeps it real talk. Then I expressed, “I’m a real man, I don’t want a virtual woman” as my perspective on online dating. I’ve done the long-distance dating on paper with 6-to-12 page letters. LOL
Dana from Divas Live OnAir and That’s Real Talk called in to chime in. “If you’re not comfortable. Or you don’t trust him, let me say that; then you shouldn’t be with him.” I shared a story of a virtual affair of someone that is leading to Spitsville. “We’ve got a myspace page together.” LOL We all roared with laughter.
Then we went with another question soliciting the man and woman perspective with a “brutally honest answer.” Then we picked up “the angry, black nerd, the naughty professor, the dictator Don Calypso.”
“That is a lonely woman, right there,” shared Dana, “enjoy what you have, and do you.”
Don said, “Those are things that women like for men to have. If this is what attracts a man to you, you better take him to the doctor and check his testerone level”
Then we played a clip of chapter one from the audio book of Donna L. Franklin’s “What’s Love Got to Do With It?” and the chat room went bananas. The breakdown of the accomplished, strong woman that’s still single sent folks into a chatting frenzy.
I decided to bring in a caller from the 708 with a fresher perspective on the state of love. Scholar weighed in, “What the f*ck. C’mon, the Spirit’s telling me that you’re lying. And somebody’s telling me this b*tch is lying.” Until you bring the feminist movement into sh*t, white women got black women to fight and then got themselves a man and said, “bye b*tches.” A lot of women with PhD’s have the worst morality you’ll ever experience in life.” And finally this gem, “She can kick rocks, and get the hell out of my face.”
Hakim called in next to agree with Scholar and reference his debut show earlier, during which we discussed multi-generational trauma in the relationships of men and women. He shared, “the patriarch concept of the man being the head of the family…” caused a controversy. He also shared that he doesn’t advocate long-distance relationships either.
S-Dot feels women today are being deSteved. They should, “wait until a person is worthy of some booty, however long it is.” And this made us all chuckle, “Men are not women with ovaries on the outside,” said Don.
“We’re not realizing, it’s not a competition. It’s about finding someone that compliments you as a mate.” S-Dot
Core values are essential for the success of your relationship. “These things transcend culture,” says Don.
Kee from the 678 called in. “Women have been bamboozled by feminism. We’ve been told that we can do everything that a man can do, and now we’re treating our men poorly.” Ronin thinks that men and women should “supplement one another’s lives.” He said, “There’s nothing wrong with being self-sufficient and self-reliant.” “We need men in our lives, for social connection.” “We need to interconnect.” She felt the back and forth bashing is what’s keeping us from coming together.

Then She and He called in and changed the entire momentum of the show. They thought they would add a very “interesting” perspective. Now She is my ex, and He is someone that I once entrusted as friend that tried to push up on her after broke up. I haven’t spoken to him for a few years. We parted ways not in an amicable manner.
He then began to share his views on relationships… Yep, it was interesting.
Truth Will shared “you can’t have a king without a queen. Each has a role in relationships. He maybe the head of the house, but she governs the household. A wife should be chosen based upon honor and obligation.”
