As kids, most of us loved it, looking forward to what was underneath the tree & in our Christmas stockings. Seems now as if things slightly changed. As we get older, we now look at Christmas as not just about presents. Some of us do different things such as going out to parties or shows & travel out of state. Others just don't celebrate it thoroughly anymore. Why do you think that is? What do the holidays truly mean to you today? Tune into Rocket Radio Blast Wednesday afternoon at a special earlier time, 5pm on Blog Talk Radio. We'll be discussing some of our favorite Christmas moments & how we feel about the festivities these days. It's a show you don't wanna miss so call in & join your truly. Artists left & right, male & female, were showcasing support for each other 100%. Seems like these, that flew out the window with the kitchen & bathroom sinks. Why is that? Why have we turned on one another? Why are Detroit residents feeling hatred towards each other now more than ever? What may have caused it? So many questions, but perhaps so little time to answer. But we're gonna try to discuss this in our next broadcast of Rocket Radio Blast. This is a topic you definitely want to chime in on, especially if you're a current &/or former Michigan resident. Who's Out?It was another interesting week in the NFL. We saw some division leaders take another big step. One team moved into first place. The Cowboys lost to the Giants AGAIN! & FINALLY, Jeff Fisher gets the boot. It had to be done, folks. I was surprised they at least considered giving him an extension. 31 wins & 45 losses as the Rams head coach should NEVER reward a contract extension. Eric Dickerson, you can go back to the team sidelines during games. Looks like Dallas will have to wait another week to clinch homefield throughout the NFC playoffs, but here comes Detroit. & let's not count out Atlanta. Can Seattle bounce back going forward? Will Green Back or Minnesota catch Detroit? Can Tampa Bay make a playoff push? What will happen to Denver these next 3 weeks? So many questions & so little time. Join Rocket as he recaps another wild NFL week & adds his 2 cents on the Jeff Fisher firing. Noon is the time. Blog Talk Radio is where you need to be. Thanksgiving weekend in the NFL was a wild one to say the least. Some teams took major steps forward, while others took significant steps backward. I'm starting to believe more & more that the Browns very well may go 0-16. I may spend some time discussing why it's good & bad for the NFL. Lions, Raiders, & Falcons took control of their divisions in the meantime. If you ask Rocket, he thinks it's a wide open run to the Super Bowl this year. Every team has significant strengths & weaknesses. But we got a little over a month worth of regular season action so there's no telling what's going to go down from week to week. But what Rocker WILL tell you is that he'll be on air 11am-1pm recapping the entire Thanksgiving weekend in the NFL & predicting Week 13. Super Bowl 50 wasn't a pretty game to say the least, but it was a good one. Say what you want, but if you're a Denver fan & have supported Peyton, you loved this game. You were proud of the way it went down. Now Peyton can perhaps ride off into the sunset. Congrats to the Broncos for winning their third Super Bowl. John Elway gets his first as an executive. Gary Kubiak gets his first as a head coach. & Peyton Manning earns his second with two different teams. We will have much to talk about this game & going forward Monday February 8th @ 9:30am. In the AFC contest, Peyton Manning once again overcomes Tom Brady for the rights to go to the big dance. If this really was the final chapter between these two icons, what a finish it was...especially if you're a Broncos fan. The defense played fantastic & Manning made some good throws. But I've said it before & I'll say it again. Kickers are paid to do two things: make field goals & make extra points...especially if they're chip shots. Patriots fans have a right to be ticked off. But there were some questionable play calls down the stretch & Bill Belicheck has to accept the blame for this one. In the NFC, the Panthers came, saw, & conquered. Cam Newton is punching his ticket for his first career Super Bowl trip in Santa Clara. The Cardinals were dominated from start to finish. Carson Palmer's bad finger made have been more painful than nay of us realize. His play may have indicated that. But nonetheless, unlike last the previos week, the Panthers did NOT take their foot off the gas. For the first time, the big bowl will be decided between two former #1 overall picks (Manning 1998, Newton 2011). Like the long but not forgotten Dr. Martin Luther King, 4 teams now have a dream. & that dream is to get to the big dance which is the Super Bowl. Rocket predicted all 4 home teams to win at home over the weekend, & that's exactly what happened...even though I had blood pressure pills on stand by. All 4 games were nail-biters. New England was able to hold off Kansas City. Arizona came back & won an overtime thiller over Green Bay (by far, the game of the weekend). Carolina scored 31 points in one half & could've blown it. You talk about close calls. WHEW, that was a close one! & Denver had to rally back & beat Pittsburgh thanks to a late game fumble. Both conference championship games have been set for next Sunday. #2 seeds versus #1 seeds as many of us had expected. This could very well be the final time we see Brady versus Manning. & last year's wildcard matchup will be this year's NFC Championship showdown against the top 2 offenses in football. The playoff thrillers continue. & we could see 2 more next weekend. Buckle your seatbelts, boys & girls. These games you'll have to see for yourselves. Sunday, we got to revenge games from the regular season. A hobbled Pittsburgh team travels to Denver while Seattle visits Carolina. Last weekend, yours truly picked the 4 road teams to be victorious. Wild is certainly an understatement. We had some crazy finishes, one blowout, a choking missed field goal, & some bonehead decisions. Hats off to the Chiefs for FINALLY winning a playoff game since 1993. On the flipside, Brian Hoyer of the Texans had one of the WORST quarterback performances I've seen in a NFL playoff game in all my 29 years. The Steelers/Bengals game was exactly what many of us predicted...nasty & extremely physical. But those final two minutes of the game was as ridiculous as it gets. Seriously, guys have to be better composed than that. Marvin Lewis, who's now 0-7 in the playoffs as head coach of Cincinnati, may not return next season. & I think he shouldn't. Much like ten years ago, Pittsburgh traveled to Cincinnati & drop another "L" on their bitter division rivals in the postseason. Fast-forward to Sunday, & Vikings kicker Blair Walsh has a few hits out on him from some fans. But the guy missed a 27-yard chip shot after making 3 longer field goals during the game. The Seahawks better be thanking Jesus. Adrian Peterson should be at fault, too, but we;ve seen this story before with him. & after getting off to a fast start, Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins really can't say "YOU LIKE THAT?!"...at least until next year. The Packers, lead by Aaron Rodgers, take care of business & are now moving on. For the first time in NFL playoff history, all four road teams won this past weekend. That said, each of them now have even tougher missions next weekend. My humble apologies for not being around since the summer. Things have been extremely busy for this thundercracker, Rocket. But it's GREAT to be back! & the timing couldn't be better. The NFL playoffs kick off this weekend, & we've got some very intriguing matchups. Two of the matchups are between teams that have played each other already this season. In the AFC, #6 seed Pittsburgh heads to Cincinnati just like 10 years ago. & most of us remembers how that game turned out for both teams. In the NFC, #6 seed Seattle travels back to Minnesota, the same place they went to a month ago & put on a thumping on the opposition. Also, we got the red hot #5 Chiefs visiting the #4 seed Texans & the #5 seed Packers traveling to the nation's capital to take on the surprising #4 seed Redskins. If you ask Rocket, all these games are interesting matchups. Forget what you saw during the regular season. The playoffs are a different animal. The journey to Super Bowl 50 @ Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, CA starts this Saturday. We have that, plus coaching changes throughout the NFL; who's out & who needs to get out. I'm sorry, but I'm really not feeling the uniforms, or the helmet. 4 straight double-digit loss seasons prompted some more off-season moves. In comes big free agent tight end Julius Thomas, who was helped made famous by Peyton Manning in Denver. He & his $46 million will try to help a team get back to the playoff for the first time since 2007. Despite what I may feel about the team jerseys, I'm still digging their second-year quarterback Blake Bortles, who I've had high hopes for since the guy was drafted. I felt coach Gus Bradley did the right thing by starting him over Chad Henne early last season. Sure, he put up pedestrian numbers last year, but what do yoiu expect from a rookie quarterback? I didn't think he got much help from his receivers to say the least. It was going to be a struggle. However, I still have high hopes for him going forward & I think he'll help get this team back to respectability once again. As far as I'm concerned, wide receiver Justin Blackmon should be let go. It's time to move on from him. I also believe making Denard Robinson a tailback was the right move. Losing first round pick defensive end Dante Fowler for the season (torn ACL) is beyond devastating. This team still have a lot of growing up to do, but I think the future is bright. Who knows, they may even take a leap in 2015. Will the Jaguars be the most improved team this upcoming year? Defensive lineman Sheldon Richardson has been suspended for the first four games of the upcoming season so there's already a big negative. A 4-12 record last year meant changes were definitely coming. Out is Rex Ryan. In is first-year man Todd Bowles, who was the Jets secondary coach in 2000. This'll be his first year to be a head coach since serving as the interim for the Dolphins in 2011. I can't say I blame the fans for their impatience, but let's face it. As long as Belicheck, Brady, & company are still active, the AFC East belongs to the Patriots. But w/ cornerback Darrelle Revis coming back, you can bet your royal ass that the gasoline has been poured on the fire once again. & w/ other additions such as running back Stevan Ridley (also coming over from New England), wide receiver Brandon Marshall, & cornerback Antonio Cromartie (who also comes back to the Jets after being away for one season), there has to be a little bit of optimism in the city that never sleeps. Bowles will have his hands full, however, especially w/ the quarterback position. I can't exactly say that Ryan Fitzpatrick makes them that much better of a football team, but he is better than the other options they have. Geno Smith just hasn't been getting it done. Maybe a new coaching staff might do the kid some justice. But how much better WILL the Jets be in 2015 & beyond? It's been 4 years since the team's last Super Bowl win. They haven't been to the playoffs since. I actually thought Coughlin would lose his job after last year. Back in Februray, according to reports, at the combine Coughlin had agreed to a 1-year contract extension that would allow him to be the coach throughout the upcoming 2015 season. So this could be his final stand. He's definitely a hall of famer in my book. Last year the team went a disappointing 6-10 but some of us saw that coming considering the personnel & roster changes that transpired during last year's off-season. Once Victor Cruz went down, their seaosn was pretty much over. But we saw the emergence & coming of rookie wideout Odell Beckham Jr., who  I felt was the best rookie receiver & in the best class of rookie wideouts in draft history. Makes you wonder what he has in store for his sophomore campaign. I've never been a big fan of Eli Manning, but when he has time to throw he can find anybody...sometimes even the players wearing opposite jerseys. He came off a great year, however, with a 30-14 touchdown-to-interception ratio. Assuming this team can stay healthy on both sides, you can bet the Giants will make another run for division supremacy in the NFC East...& maybe another Lombardi trophy. But what's the future looking like for this team? What's going to happen to Jason Pierre-Paul? As of we really have to ask that, but we'll discuss it & a possible Tom Coughlin successor in another installment of "The Rocket Sports Breakdown" Tuesday July 14 @ 10:30am on Blog Talk Radio. They haven't made the playoffs since. 2014 was the year they were supposed to bounce back & be contenders again, but they suffered yet another double-digit loss season. & as a result, former head coach Mike Smith was sent packing. So out he goes & in comes former Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, who I think will have a lot of work to do w/ that defense. When that offense is healthy, the Falcons can score amongst any team in the NFL. One of the main problems last year was guys staying healthy. Another problem was the offensive line protection. This unit gave up 31 sacks in 2014. & after that dreadful meltdown in London against the Lions, many of us knew that Mike Smith's time was ticking. That loss sealed his fate in Atlanta. Now you got the team under investigation for crowd noise. They could've used projecters & graphic effects & it wouldn't have made a difference considering the way they've played these past 2 years. I'm not going to say time is ticking on the Falcons, cause they can compete w/ anyone when healthy. But I will say that the NFC South is up for grabs this year, & the Falcons have a legitimate shot at division supremacy. Will this team EVER get over the hump? Will they EVER win a Super Bowl? Will 2015 be a bounce back season? We'll talk about it in another installment of "The Rocket Sports Breakdown" Monday morning July 13 @ 10:30am. There's been a lot of scrutiny on coach Chip Kelly & his methods as well as the moves he's made since the aftermath of the Super Bowl. Out are players such as LeSean McCoy, Jeremy Maclin, Nick Foles, Nate Allen, & Bradley Fletcher. In are new additions such as DeMarco Murray, Sam Bradford, Byron Maxwell, Ryan Mathews, Walter Thurmond, Miles Austin, & of course Tebow himself. Makes you wonder what kind of team the Eagles will be going forward in 2015. If & when healthy, these guys can come in & help our right away. I'm a little worried about who'll be taking snaps under center. Mark Sanchez resigns for another 2 years ($9 million) but do we really know he's going to be the guy? & what about Tebow? What role will he be playing? Sam Bradford, anyone? Whatever happens, the deck is stacked against Chip Kelly. He's apparently looking to really run his style of team, primarily on the offense. Expections will be on this team (like every year it seems like), but if they can't put together a playoff season, you would have to think that heads will eventually roll in that front office. Last year was truly a very disappointing season in Philly & they really couldn't afford to let that happen. This year, the NFC East may be up for grabs, mainly between the Eagles & Cowboys. Will Philly come out on top in 2015? Can Chip & company get things rolling? Don't get me wrong, bringing in Suh was a big move, but all that money for a defensive tackle?? They better hope the brotha arrives w/ an adrenalin shot. I don't fault the Detroit Lions for not overpaying to keep him. I kinda saw this coming. I wish the guy farewell & say time for the Lions to move on. As for the Dolphins, all other eyes in 2015 will be on Ryan Tannehill. Questions still linger about his capabilities as a leader & whether or not he'll ever help bring another Lombardi trophy to South Beach. I'd like to think that this team still has ways to go offensively. Losing Mike Wallace hurts & bringing in Greg Jennings doesn't come close to being an upgrade. Kenny Stills isn't ready to be a #1, & rookie DeVante Parker has to prove himself on the professional level. & don't get me started on the running game. Last year, Knowshon Moreno was supposed to be the answer & yet 3 games into the regular season, he dislocates his  left elbow & misses the rest of the year. The Dolphins parted ways w/ him as a result. Now that defensive front just got significantly better, but what about the rest of the defense? Who else do they have that jumps out at people? Or opposing offenses for that matter? We're gonna try to decipher this during our next broadcast over the 4th of July weekend. Two more words: contract negotiations. That's what it seems like in the state of Texas, or "Jerry World" some people call it. Dez Bryant wants a big contract, & lets face it. Many of us football people saw this coming. I knew going into the off-season the Cowboys were either going to lose Dez Bryant or DeMarco Murray, or be forced to franchise tag one of the two. By losing Murray to division rival Philadelphia, the offense took a HUGE setback. I don't think this offense will be as good as most people anticipate in 2015 because of that one loss. Murray was the primary reason Tony Romo had such a great year in 2014. & I say that because a quarterback can't do so much w/o a running back to help take pressure off him. Murray had his best year as a pro & as a result, he's gone. Can they bounce back from this? & now you have Bryant threatening to not participate in training camp & ranting on Twitter about getting his money, & perhaps rightfully so. If Jerry Jones is the big money owner that he's personified to be, then he has to step up & pay the man, not saying it's right, but he knew this was coming. Dez Bryant deserves a big contract, but he also needs to be in camp. This offense won't work w/o him. What will Jerry Jones do? & is this team truly in the mix for another Super Bowl? Fans still feel that the team was cheated during the AFC Championship game against the Patriots, & perhaps rightfully so. This team should have a chip on their shoulders after getting obliterated 45-7. Many believe this team is one step closer to obtaining another Super Bowl trophy & maybe they are. But if this unit is going to get over the hump then quarterback Andrew Luck has got to limit his turnovers. The guy threw 4 picks during last year's playoffs, including 2 costly INT's against New England. If he does that, there's no limit to what this team can accomplish. & w/ the off-season additions of wide receiver Andre Johnson & running back Frank Gore, Luck may finally have enough offensive help to capture a Lombardi trophy. Those guys may be nearing the end of their careers but they still have enough in them to make another Super Bowl run in 2015. I'm anxious to see what the defense will look like. Despite recording 41 sacks last year, this team still surrendered a lot of points, particularly in games against Pittsburgh & New England (twice). Bringing in linebacker Trent Cole is a nice pickup. He'll get a chance to help make that defense even better. There's a very bright future in Indy but can they live up to expectations? How will they respond after playing extremely poorly in the conference title game? Tune into "The Rocket Sports Breakdown" Tuesday June 30th @ 10:30am in another 32 for 32 NFL team coverage. But the big story was safety Eric Berry's health. After that loss to the Raiders, he received an X-ray which revealed a mass in his chest believed to be lymphoma. He was placed on the non-football illness list, ending his season. A month later, Berry was confirmed to have Hodgskin's lymphoma. He has begun treatment & many of us are wishing him a strong recovery. My prayers have been & will be w/ him during this time. The Chiefs have made some moves during the off-season, bringing in free agents such as wide receiver Jeremy Maclin (reuniting w/ Jason Avant from Philadelphia) & safety Tyvon Branch. The pressure continues to be on head coach Andy Reid. He's been expected to make a Super Bowl run w/ this team & that hasn't happened. & he has yet to win a Super Bowl, pinning him on the list of one of the greatest coaches in league history to not accomplish the feat. Some fans have started to lost patience. Something's gotta give, right? I hope for the sake of Reid that this team finally turns to corner in 2015. It's been a long time coming since the franchise's last Super Bowl triumph (Super Bowl III), but Arrowhead remains one of the toughest places to play of opponents & as long as you have great fans supporting your team, you'll always have a shot to accomplish wins, divison titles, & maybe even a Lombardi trophy. This team still has work to do, but it looks like they're heading in the right direction. How far can & will they go? They had one of the weirdest seasons I can recall in recent years, & one of the weirdest in franchise history. They were 5-1 before everything came crashing down, including the kitchen sink. After losing Week 1, they won 5 straight, then lost in the final minutes to division rival Kansas City, then another loss to another division rival Denver, then an embarrassing 37-0 beatdown at the hands of Miami. At that point, you would've thought the bye week couldn't had come at a better time. So then they return to action winning 3 straight (all 3 were very close games, including a dramatic finish in Baltimore), but lose at home to a New England team in they had the momentum against in the first half. Then another loss to Denver nearly pushed them off the cliff for a playoff spot. But if you thought the Baltimore win was impressive, what they did in San Francisco will go down in the history books. All they had to do was beat Kansas City & they had a shot for a wildcard spot. Well that didn't happen, & during the off-season rumors began to spread about the possibility of quarterback Phillip Rivers reuniting w/ former offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt (now Titans head coach) in Tennessee. Well, that didn't happen either & w/ tight end Antonio Gates's, time iomments about the "window closing", time is ticking on the Chargers. This team from 2004 to 2009 was the most talented team in football. Those years are so long gone that I have no idea was this team will look like in 2015. But do the duo of Rivers & Gates have enough in them to make one more run in the playoffs? We'll discuss it in another in installment of "The Rocket Sports Breakdown" Thursday morning @ 10:30am. Before Carson Palmer went down, I actually felt they had a real legitimate shot. His injury helped changed the entire NFC playoff picture. I also felt that if the Cardinals didn't get a top seed in the NFC playoffs, they would be 1-&-done...& they were. Despite that, I got a ton of mad respect for head coach Bruce Arians. He's been one of my favorite NFL coaches in recent years. The guy didn't have a whole lot to work w/ these past few seasons. Offensively, the Cards were ranked 24th overall last season. They played 4 quarterbacks, & 3 of them started at least 2 games. Despite having wide receivers Larry Fitzgerald, Malcolm Floyd, John Brown, Ted Ginn Jr., running backs Andre Ellington, there seemed to have been some chemistry issues. Obviously, you can blame the quarterback injuries on that but in the end, it does come down to coaching & despite all that, I felt Bruce Arians did a great job & truly deserved the coach of the year honors. The defense also ranked 24th in the league last year & I felt that was a huge problem. They played so strong at the start of the season. Injuries may have played a part in the team's decline down the stretch. When healthy, this team can compete w/ anyone. Hopefully, for their sakes (& for the sake of Bruce Arians), this team can stay healthy & win the NFC West. Can they? That is thee question. Well last I checked, 2 wins in a 16-game season doesn't get you anywhere but most likely last place in your division. I actually thought they would be better than 4 wins in 2013, & they were awfully worse. & as a result, they landed the #1 overall pick in the 2015 Draft & took highly touted quarterback from their inner state, Jameis Winston, who's known for big plays & big trouble. Last year was the first year Lovie Smith took over as head coach & you would've thought the brotha might had regretted such a decision. But this team has talent on both sides of the ball. Second year wide receiver Mike Evans has even bigger expectations this year after being part of arguably the biggest wide receiver draft class in league history. Add the likes of Vincent Jackson, Gerald McCoy, George Johnson (back w/ team after being traded from Detroit), & Chris Conte (free agent pickup form Chicago), this Tampa team has some pieces to compete in what I believe will be a competitive division...not saying they'll win, but all 4 teams have proven they can hang w/ each other in division play for the most part. But I'm anxious to see what Winston will look like during his rookie campaign, assuming he's named the official started before regular season play (he most likely will be if healthy & productive enough). This team should be better than 2 wins. They can't get worse. But can this roster REALLY compete in the NFC South? It kinda makes you wonder if this team may have won a Super Bowl, some division titles, or even a playoff game or two. To this day, Browns fans (old school & new) despise former owner Art Modell to his grave. Since '96, the Baltimore Ravens have won 2 Super Bowls & the Browns have switched head coaches seemingly every year. The quarterback position has been the biggest sting w/ this roster, going back to when the Browns returned to the NFL in 1999, selecting Kentucky gunslinger Tim Couch w/ the #1 overall pick in the draft that same year. Couch has gone on to become a bust along w/ a handful of other quarterbacks including Spergon Wynn, Charlie Frye, Brady Quinn, & Colt McCoy. Now after drafting Johnny Manziel & considering some off the off-the-field problems surrounding him this year, where does the organization go from here? It's not quite time to panic just yet, but the kid's got some issues, & the front office should've saw some of this coming. He has an opportunity to right the ship & learn a thing or two from free agent pickup Josh McCown, but Manziel's gotta get his faculties straight if he expects to take future snaps in the NFL for any team. The Browns can become a playoff team in 2015, & maybe even win the AFC North, but they got a ton of work to do. It all falls on the shoulders of head coach Mike Pettine, whose team showed some promise last year going 7-9. Now if things don't work out w/ this regime, they may have to ask Bernie Kosar to come out of retirement. A Year later, they were one & done in the postseason. Out is John Fox & in is Gary Kubiak, a former Broncos assistant now head coach. He has a good offense to work from. This offense will still be good...well, the passing game anyway. The running backs have to stay healthy & effective for this team to win another Super Bowl. For Manning, I'm certain one ring isn't enough. I also know that being eliminated in the playoffs last yeat by his former team has to be mind-numbing as well. Many coaching chages took place this offseason with just this team alone. I'm anxious to see what this offensive line will look like. They won 9 games but had some issues down the stretch. It started with the quarterback situation as it seemed EJ Manuel just wasn't & hasn't been getting the job done as the organization had hoped for. He's still on the roster, but it looks like he'll be a dogfight for the starter spot maybe for the rest of his career. Also, a tough road loss in Oakland pretty much dimmed their chances at a playoff spot for the first time since losing the Music City Miracle game against Tennessee back in 1999. The franchise hasn't been right ever since. They've struggled to find a productive consistent passer, the offensive line has been a mess, & a coaching change has been made. In comes Rex Ryan, who has taken the Jets to back-to-back AFC Championship games (both losses) after the abrupt & bitter departure of Doug Marrone. The biggest news for this team during the offseason was the unexpected trade for running back Lesean McCoy which left many in the city of Philadelphia still stratching the back of their heads & not just the top. With the additions of him alongside troubled players Richie Incognito & Percy Harvin, what type of Bills team should many of us expect to see in 2015? Surprisingly to most, he's still at the helm & has been coaching the team since 2003. It's time to put up or shut up once again. I actually believe this team can dominate the AFC North in 2015. With the Steelers & Ravens losing some key players & the Browns still rebuilding, now is the time to seize the division if you're the Bengals. They used their first two draft picks on the offensive line by selecting tackles Cedric Ogbuehi from Texas A&M & Jake Fisher from Oregon. That drama carried over into the regular season which many of us had began to hear rumors of tension between the organization & former head coach Jim Harbaugh, who left to become head coach at his alma mater, Michigan University. In 2015, there have been many changes to this team. The 2014-15 NFL playoff picture has finally been set & it all begins this weekend. Many teams were unfortunately eliminated, & some have managed to secure spots. We got four wildcard games taking place this Saturday & Sunday. For the first time ever, ESPN will broadcast one of the wildcard games, which will be the Cardinals taking on the Panthers Saturday. The other NFC matchup will be between the Lions & Cowboys, which will air on FOX Sunday. For the Cardinals, they'd hoped to be the #1 seed & become the first team in NFL history to play at their own stadium for the Super Bowl. Now they'll have to do it the hard way. As for the Panthers, they have come alive since Cam Newton's car accident just a few weeks ago. For the Lions, there will be no Ndamukong Suh this weekend due to an apparent suspension. & as for the Cowboys, how healthy will Tony Romo & DeMarco Murray be? Rocket will discuss these two games & make his predictions on New Year's Eve before the ball drops. Showtime is 6:30pm. Joe D Must Go!I was fishing around on Yahoo recently (like I always do...sometimes for topics & news for this show), & I happened to come across a report that stated Joe Dumars was on his way out of the Pistons' front office. If this is true (& most Pistons fans probably hope so), then so be it. It may be time for both parties to move on. Things just haven't really been the same these past 5/6 years. Sounds like it's indeed time for a change. But here's the question: Should this happen? The man did some phenomenal things for the organization as a player & as the team president/executive for nearly 30 years. It's been a very disappointing season to say the least, & to be honest, it needs to be discussed...& we will talk about this & more on another installment of "The Rocket Sports Breakdown". But during the pregame & halftime shows, I sat & listened to something Charles Barkley said & it hit me square in the chest. The NBA is worse now that it's ever been. & you know something? I could not agree more. & I haven't always been a Chuck fan/supporter, but in this case I wholeheartedly agree w/ the guy.
