Sylvia Wright, author of A Path Worn Smooth, is a consultant, lecturer & wordsmith, specializes in business, environmental and communications theories. The recipient of the 2008 Turn America from Eco-weak to Eco-chic Award and the 2005 VA Horticulture Foundation faculty travel award, Wright is an avid landscape gardener, conducts eco-gardening workshops and was featured by VA Home Grown WCVE Richmond PBS TV and Birds & Blooms magazine for her eco-strategies. As a communications specialist, she is published by environmental, lifestyle and business magazines, conducts PR communication workshops and teaches adult education nonfiction writing classes. Her first book, A Path Worn Smooth, in draft format received the 2006 Writer’s Connection VA Book Competition award. In answer to a challenge issued by the National League of American Pen Women (NLAPW) to all members, Wright is one of five Virginians who respond. In the League’s newly published Lincoln Legacy anthology – Happy Birthday, Mr. Lincoln, Wright contributed an excerpt from her book, A Path Worn Smooth, http://www.lulu.com/content/5345570 sharing the story of Lincoln’s legacy as it influenced her Henrico County family’s history. As a result, she is one of nation-wide contributors recognized by the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge with their 2009 George Washington Honor Medal for her collaborative effort to promote an understanding and appreciation of America’s rich heritage and unique freedoms.
