    Women, What Were You Thinking?

After my inspiring and down-to-earth conversation with my most  recent guest, Cheryl Donovan, author of   "Women What the Hell are You Thinking: An Inspirational Guide To Becoming a Virtuous Woman of God", I thought about one of my favorite vocalist to this day, Phyllis Hyman (see the video below), who is now deceased.  From what I saw of her, she was an absolutely stunning woman with a powerful voice and refreshing sense of wit, yet she felt so alone.  After her death, many of her fans discovered that she really meant it when she sung this song (see the video below)  What about you?  Cheryl discusses this as well as some of these common statements made by women:

    •          “I’ve got a steady flow of income, money in the bank, and I’m feeling good about myself.  Why do
            I need a man?"

    •          “I can’t stand this feeling all alone!  Why have all those other sisters fund a man, and here I am at
           30 (40 or 50), and I am still single?"

    •          "I smiled like everything was perfect all week at work, and did the same thing at church last
            Sunday, but I am miserable...."

Really? She was absolutely stunning! I wasn't familiar with her, but her voice is beautiful. Knowing that she committed suicide, the video was rather haunting. I could see her pain..
