By now, everyone has heard about WWE's plans for a new Performance Training Facility(NXT) where they hope to develop and train the future stars of the company. But WWE is not just looking for wrestlers from the independent scene or fitness models to train. It would seem that the WWE is hoping to provide a place for retired NFL players or current players who didn't make the cut. WWE would certainly benefit from having a pool of already trained athletes, but how does the NFL gain from this? Would the stigma of Pro Wrestling hurt the sport of American Football?

During a recent interview, TNA president Dixie Carter said she would like to promote a TNA vs. WWE inter-promotional wrestling show, but she acknowledged that it likely will not happen. TNA would obviously benefit from a show with the number one wrestling company in USA. WWE on the other hand would have little or nothing to gain. Why would, Dixie Carter make such a statement? Was it a genuine hope to be able to run a TNA vs. WWE show? Or was this a desperate attempt at making a headline for the number two wrestling company?
