On this edition of Beautiful Poetry with Dope Poets, my featured artist will be DC THE VOICE OF REASON! DC is an EXTRAORDINARY POET! The mic will be open for all poets to spit immediately following the interview.

David Lloyd Crouch relocated from St. Louis, MO to Miami, FL in September 2009. He is an aspiring author that has been doing Poetry for five years. GOD has gifted him in such a way that he has become forever passionate about the true “art form” of Spoken Word and its effectiveness.

As a fresh face to the poetry scene, David has appeared as a regular at The Mahogany Grille, he has also appeared at The Lyric Café, Indigo 7, and University of Miami here in Miami, Fl. He is currently a house poet at the Inner Look.

Because he equates the art form of Spoken Word to ministry his appearances are limitless. David gave a riveting spoken word piece at Echoes of Freedom: A Tribute to Triumph and opened for R.A.I.N (Rhema Apostolic International Network). David appeared at Chicago, IL “Verbal Balance” venue. He has also appeared in San Francisco, CA and St. Louis, MO “Legacy and Soul Stage” venues. As the co-chair to “Poetic Declarations”, David uses poetry to inspire children and youth to express themselves through the art of “Spoken Word”!

His latest accomplishment was being featured on “The House of Slam Poets” radio blog show and the winner of the Hot Poet of Year in April 2011 for national poetry month. As David continues to grow in GOD, he lives by these personal declarations: “The Promises of GOD are always Yes and Amen” and “To whom much is given much is required!"

DC is also apart of the Love Colored Black Foundation. http://www.indiegogo.com/Love-Colored-Black-The-Documentary
