Dubbed, "Hostess of Enlightenment" by someone super dear to her, Stacy wanted to have a place for people to unite to learn about bettering themselves while staying positive. I am really excited to speak with Dr. Tanne. I had a stroke at 32 and have been dealing with Intracranial Hypertension for 2 and a half years. I am in constant pain with crippling headaches and so much more. I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and my neurologist is not helping me with my condition. My last LP was ebruay 12th and the opening pressure was 30 cm of H2o. they drained a whopping 20cc of fluid and my closing pressure was 16 cm of H2o. In November of 2007, my pressure was 25 cm of H2o I am taking 80mg of Lasix/day. I have tried Diamox, but it made me nauseous. My neurologist then told me to take 40mg of lasix after the last LP, which was very troubling since he prescribed Lasix at 80 mg over a year ago? Isee now that he is not helping me and doesn't even care enough to look at my chart to see that he has already prescribed Lasix over a year ago and now he is prescribing it again only a lower dose!!? I am suffering so much and I can't live like this anymore, please help me. I wanted to come to the U.S to see someone who knows what to do. A shunt? I have exasperated all forms of treatment.
