Is some of what we're saying more harmful than helpful when combating discrimination? Consider the following statment: It's all in how they're raised.
Is this true? No. Why is is not true? Let's put it this way (Thank you Cheryl Huerta for this example.) Virtually every one of the dogs that came from Mike Vick's Bad Newz Kennels has been rehabilitated and has been adopted and some have become therapy dogs and have Good Canine Citizen Certification. So, considering how those dogs were raised, one would assume they are doomed to a life of solitary due to their fighting background. Not true. Obviously. ;) Environment is everything. Take those dogs out of a hellish envirionment, place them in a calm environment, shown compassion and given the daily dose of structure, exercise and stumuli, you will positive results. Dogs live in the now. They live with what we give them each and every day. We want to hear now what you have to say on all of this.
