Claire Morris, photograph extraordinaire, has been taking photographs since 1999. She became fascinated with photography in college, when a friend of hers showed her a coke can that she said was a camera. She was insanely amazed!
It was the beginning of her love affair with photography. She quickly completed her art course and chose to study photography at her University. She bought an old camera, built a dark room in her bathroom and then everyone she knew become her model.
Her love for music is what inspired her photographic career. She began photographing the live music scene in 2001, which led to work published regularly in magazines such as NME and Kerrang.
She also worked in fashion for a while, this led to high-profile work for clients such as Tony & Guy, Wella, Fashions Finest, Hobs, Renaissance and many design agencies both in studio and on location.
Many years of experience behind the lens and 6 years of University qualifications enabled her to lecture part time for 4 years for Further and Higher Education photography courses at Harrogate College and Leeds Metropolitan University. During that time, she became a Finalist in The Association of Photographers Lecturers Photography Awards 2009.
After experiencing many different photographic specialisms, Claire found that wedding and portraits are where her true love lies. She loves photographing on-location portraits and beautiful weddings.
Claire now spends her time between France and the UK and calls both Paris and Yorkshire “home”. Claire says she knows she is lucky because she can really be based and work from anywhere and experience all the world has to offer.
