Happy Birthday To The Archivest’s journey throughout hip hop has not only spanned over time and place, but has influenced and impacted the lives of many. He is not only a connoisseur and missionary of the hip hop religion, but has helped, through his interviews, capture the voice behind the music the mind behind the voice and helped us find the origin of inspiration behind some of your favorite artists and their songs humble beginnings, growing up in the lower mainland of British Columbia.  However, even the humblest of beginnings have their pain and hardship to be dealt with and adversities to be overcome and for the much younger / future “Archivest” through hip hop, he had found rest for his soul and a window into a colourful world where nothing was unattainable. A world where the tyrannical authority were reduced to idiotic “pigs” and where even the most poorest and unconventional became cool, lyrical royalty of their own musical kingdoms.  Archivest became obsessed with this genre of music unlike any other ever seen or heard by him. He started to think, eat, sleep hip hop spending uncountable hours traversing the vast lyrical landscape that was hip hop.  The first show he ever attended was hoodstock 2 with Ghetto concept and Mindbender at the Massey theater in 98? .  He went on to attend hoodstock 3 and the DJ soundwars 4 and 5.  The Archivest couldn’t get enough of this new way of interacting with hip hop.  From listening to records in his room to seeing it in its awsome entirety live in front of him spitting fire and energy at him like some kind of lyrical dragon.  The Archivest was inspired and determined to keep digging deeper and deeper into this crazy new world.
