Marissa Alexander's request for a new trial was denied. Alexander is a battered woman - her husband - Rico Edward Gray stated on page 36 of his deposition (http://www.scribd.com/doc/90595503/Marissa-Alexander-Alleged-Victim-Disposition ) " I have 5 baby mama's and I put my hands on all of them except one" (Alexander fired a waring shot in the ceiling, which saved her life and was denied immunity under Florida's Stand Your Ground Statute. She faces mandatory 20 years in prison and is scheduled to be sentenced on Friday May 11, 2012 in Jacksonville, Florida.
