Katherine Castillo Junco founder of KN Cosmetics may not be a household name yet, but her strength and determination can't help but to inspire others.
According to statistics, "domestic violence still remains to be the leading cause of injury to women - more than car accidents, muggings, and rape combined." And Katherine was no different, she was young, had a child, and fell utterly in love with her would-be abuser. Katherine recalled the relationship as being "very passionate and overwhelming" and seemingly "perfect." He made long distance trips to visit her every weekend and the courting just swept her heart away.
 Katherine can recall the first time he had ravaged her in his uncontrollable rage with great detail. " I mentioned or made a comment about his (a passerby's) dreadlocks and he slammed my face against a windshield because he thought I was looking at another man from my car." Like many women in abusive relationships, Katherine felt she had few options. " It was too late too leave then. I had no job and no where to go at the time. Plus I stayed because I loved him and had hopes he would change."
